Reentry Program - Southern California

Servicing Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties

Established in 2021, the Tayba Foundation office in SoCal offers individualized case management for individuals and families who have been affected by incarceration. We also provide a food pantry, and upskilling to support individuals on their journey.

Trauma-Informed Case Management

We have four case managers that provide case management services and provide resources to our clients with whatever they need, whether it's a Birth Certificate, ID, vouchers, assistance to secure housing, or employment support.

Mental Health Services

Tayba Foundation’s Mental Health Specialist facilitates groups for reentrants on coping skills, distress tolerance, self-regulation, mindfulness, and addressing underlying trauma, utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and the Wellness Recovery Action Program (WRAP).

Substance Use Disorder Treatment

Tayba Foundation's Substance Abuse Specialist facilitates recovery group meetings in small groups as well as one-on-one settings. They assist individuals with referrals and other resources related to in-patient rehabilitation services while adhering to the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria for assessing, monitoring, and treating clients with addictions.

Project G.I.F.T

A recent grant from the county has allowed us to provide technological services to almost 100 formerly incarcerated persons. We have named this Project G.I.F.T, which stands for Google Instruction from Tayba.

We're able to take 25 people per cohort, teach them the Google Suite, and we're able to pay them at the same time that they're learning.

The project will be completed at the end of January, 2023. The Tayba Lab will continue for returning students.

[Project G.I.F.T] helped me to prove that I can be something. That you can learn, no matter where you’ve been in life. It gave me the opportunity to feel like somebody, to feel important.

Ongoing support

Food pantry

Tayba SoCal has a connection with a food pantry which allows us to deliver a bag of food every week to our clients who are formerly incarcerated. In 2022 we delivered over 1200 bags to our clients.

System Navigation

Tayba Foundation’s case manager will provide referrals to local medical agencies for reentries to acquire necessary health care. They can also assist with reentry planning, life skills training, and eligibility assessment for educational and employment programs.

Tayba Lab

We have a computer instructor who will work in the Tayba Lab, which is set up to just deliver technology literacy in the form of basic computer skills, learning the Google Suite and also learning Microsoft Office.
