Volunteer Leadership Opportunities at Tayba Foundation

Tayba Foundation is seeking committed and experienced professionals to join its leadership team in key governance and financial oversight roles. These positions carry significant responsibility and require individuals of integrity, proven experience, and a deep commitment to our mission of transforming lives through education, reentry support, and community empowerment.

Treasurer – Board of Directors (1 position)

The Treasurer serves as a key officer of the Tayba Foundation Board, ensuring the financial health and accountability of the organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing Tayba’s financial strategy, policies, and reporting.

  • Working closely with the finance team to review budgets, audits, and financial statements.

  • Ensuring compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and best practices.

  • Providing clear financial reports to the Board to guide decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in finance, accounting, or related field (CPA or equivalent experience preferred).

  • Prior experience with nonprofit financial oversight or board service.

  • High level of integrity, discretion, and accountability.

  • Commitment to Tayba’s mission and values.

Endowment Investment Committee (3 positions)

The Endowment Investment Committee is entrusted with safeguarding and growing Tayba’s endowment to secure long-term sustainability for our programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and monitoring investment policies in line with Tayba’s values and financial objectives.

  • Reviewing portfolio performance, risk management, and asset allocation.

  • Advising the Board on long-term investment strategies.

  • Ensuring prudent stewardship of community trust and resources.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in investments, asset management, endowments, or finance.

  • Track record of ethical and successful financial decision-making.

  • Familiarity with Shari’ah-compliant financial principles (preferred but not required).

  • Ability to work collaboratively and objectively in a committee setting.
